ARNIE CONROD - PHOTOGRAPHER Arnie Conrod was born and raised in Nova Scotia and currently resides in Bedford, Nova Scotia with his wife Pam. Arnie's interest in photography began at the tender age of six, when exploring Grandma's house with his Kodak box camera was the order of the day. It is rumored that his first words were "more film please." Here we have one of the first images Arnie can remember taking, that of his Grandfather standing in the kitchen (notice the knee high vantage point). It was these early adventures that started Arnie on an interesting and exciting career in photography. Early training was directed toward landscape and scenics but, as time went on it became evident that Arnie's gift was in photographing people. Driven by his love of meeting new people and capturing their personalities on film, Arnie's instruction began to concentrate intently on portraiture. As a result, Arnie has trained under some of the best portrait photographers in North America, including Jeff Lubin of McLean, Northern Virginia, the highest paid portrait photographer in the United States. Arnie is very thankful to all of the instructors he has been privileged to study under over the years. Arnie believes that "as photographers, we must never stop learning. We owe it to our clients and to ourselves to absorb as many ideas, trends and techniques as possible, so as to continually progress and make the best images we are capable of." Every person he meets, he holds in high value, believing that everyone has a beauty about them. When asked about his priorities in photography, his reply was, "keep your subject relaxed and make the best images you can." Arnie also attributes much of his success to his best friend and wife, Pam. Pam is also heavily involved with photography and frequently assists in portrait and wedding sessions. Arnie and Pam look forward to meeting you and delivering the high quality images that you deserve.
