Helpful Hints... When hiring a photographer Whether you desire a portrait of your children, family or for your formal wedding, be sure that your photographer is using 120 format (Professional format), not 35mm, as the 35mm images will pale in comparison in regards to quality, clarity and sharpness. These factors will become very evident when you receive your final portraits... when it is too late. For all your portrait sessions, especially family portraits, your photographer should be willing to meet with you to discuss the "mood" of the image you wish to portray. In this consultation, things such as time, location and the very important subject of what clothing to wear to make a good portrait, should be discussed. If you've decided to create a lasting portrait of the most important things in life, namely you and your loved ones, a little thought and communication with your photographer will go a long way in creating this family heirloom. When meeting with a Wedding photographer that you are considering, you may want to ask yourself questions such as... Do I like this style of photography? After all, it is their interpretation of the event that you will see in your wedding images. Do I like their personality? Do they have a happy disposition, or are they going to add to my stress level? Do they seem prepared to do the job? Will they do a go-see? Pre-check the area where your session will take place. Do they carry back-up equipment? And if you plan on getting married in the Maritimes, is your photographer prepared for rain... or hurricanes as we have encountered. It is because of these very features that we at Conrod Photography continue to be hired for image making in winter, spring, summer and fall.
