RUSH to HALIFAX 2010 / 2011              Scroll down for the Video Links

 Phase 1 – From its beginning in March 2010, the contest raised awareness about RUSH skipping the maritimes for the 24th year in a row for the time machine tour. Ballot boxes were placed in various businesses around the HRM and people would bring in food for FEED NOVA SCOTIA and exchange the food for ballots. Every few weeks ballots would be drawn and prizes awarded. Prizes included star treatment – where you and your friends were picked up by Overall Limousine, taken to Jonathan Neil… the Salon for hair and make up, and then brought by Limo to the Conrod Photography studio for a photo shoot. Other packages included gift certificate packs valued as much as $900.00, and the third set of packages included new guitars, guitar starter kits, and additional gift certificates. To further raise awareness of the lack of RUSH shows in Halifax, local musicians were sought out that could talk and play RUSH music, and talk about why RUSH should come back for a visit. This made for an interesting set of video's with Halifax Musicians playing Violins, Guitars, vocals, Bass guitar, drummers, and even an amazing Ukulele player ! ( you haven't hears Tom Sawyer or Closer to the Heart, till you've heard this!) The links to these videos are posted below. 

This Phase ran from March 2010 – April 2011. 

 Phase 2 – Master airbrush artist Travis Roma (a big RUSH fan) airbrushed a guitar in the style of the Vapor Trails album graphics (visible on the front page of my website). I’m currently in negotiations with RUSH management to try and get Alex Lifeson to sign the guitar before it goes to auction for FEED NOVA SCOTIA.

Conrod Photography is a Halifax, Nova Scotia-based studio that specializes in portraiture and caters to the needs of our corporate clients.  

Arnie, like many others, grew up fascinated with photography and started freelancing in 1991, officially started Conrod Photography in 1998 along with his wife, Pam. As a full-time photographer, he takes his art seriously, making time every year to train so that they can stay on top of current trends and techniques.  

Together they have enjoyed all aspects of their photography, be it aerial for corporate businesses, photographing families commemorating their togetherness, business photographs in our Clayton Park studio, or photographing a high school graduation student that captures their individuality.
